Ganjar-Mahfud Promise 7% Economic Growth, This is the Move! News – 2 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Ganjar Pranowo – Mahfud MD have released the work program they will propose if they win the 2024 Presidential Election. In the economic sector, Ganjar-Mahfud is targeting average economic growth of 7%.

“The average economic growth reached 7%,” as quoted from the Ganjar-Mahfud vision and mission document quoted on Tuesday (24/10/2023).

The economic growth target is stated in chapter 3 entitled Accelerating Independent Economic Development Based on Knowledge and Added Value. In that chapter, both of them promised to create an economic development strategy that ensures the wheels of the economy move quickly, fairly and evenly.

“By prioritizing the development of superior, productive and efficient human resources to increase the added value of the national economy,” as quoted from the same document.

Furthermore, the same document explains that economic growth with an average of 7% is a strategy so that Indonesia can escape the trap of a middle income country.

The pair supported by PDIP, PPP and a number of other parties promised that growth would be carried out inclusively by increasing the role of cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. They also stated that the strategy would be implemented evenly throughout Indonesia.

The strategy to achieve economic growth is carried out by utilizing infrastructure, the digital economy, environmentally friendly economic management, as well as manufacturing industry growth at 7.5-8%.

Both believe that growth can be achieved by optimizing Special Economic Zones to accelerate industrialization and investment.

Meanwhile, for fiscal policy, the pair carries the theme Fiscal Tough. Both promised to create an adequate, transparent, accountable, effective and efficient state budget by optimizing revenue sources, institutional reform and effectiveness of state spending.
