Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Samsung LSI Systems President Park Yong-in confirmed that the 2024 Galaxy will support satellite services.
This is one of the leaks about the Galaxy S24 series which is expected to arrive in early February.
Speaking at the 2023 Semiconductor Expo (SEDEX), Park Yong-in said that technical preparations had been made to accommodate communications with satellites.
Quote GSMArenaFriday (27/10/2023), this update can be a reference for the Exynos Modem 5300 which supports 2-way communication via satellite.
Park Yong-in also talked about Samsung’s plans to improve smartphone graphics performance by improving ray tracing. This is a feature that produces light reflections to add realism to games and debuts on the Galaxy S22 with Exynos 2200.
He also talked about Generative AI, a leading feature in Qualcomm’s newly announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This allows virtual assistants to provide concise, human-like responses, generate media (video and photos), and more.
Talking about communication features without internet, Apple has already used it on the iPhone 15, called SOS Emergency Satellite.
In the latest iPhone series, Apple still maintains this feature to help users interact without being connected to the internet.
The company provides an update by allowing users to use satellites to show them the way while on the go.
This feature is free for 2 years for iPhone 15 users. However, this feature is not yet available in Indonesia.
