Gibran Becomes Prabowo’s Vice Presidential Candidate, PDIP is Ready to Do This News – 1 hour ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Mayor of Solo who is also a PDIP cadre, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, was chosen as Vice Presidential Candidate from Prabowo Subianto. Prabowo and Gibran are scheduled to make a declaration and register with the KPU today, Wednesday (25/10/2023).

Spokesperson for the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, Chico Hakim, claimed that the PDIP DPP would take a stand regarding Gibran’s status if he registered for the 2024 presidential election with Prabowo Subianto. Chico said the PDIP DPP would first wait for the decision to be taken by the eldest son of Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding the proposal from the Presidential Candidate of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Prabowo as vice presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

“I think so (will take a stand after registering the presidential and vice presidential candidates at the KPU),” said Chico.

Quoting CNN Indonesia, if Gibran accepts Prabowo’s proposal as vice presidential candidate, according to him he will automatically leave PDIP. However, Chico admitted that he did not know whether Gibran would still be accepted into PDIP if he refused Prabowo’s proposal later. He said the decision was only determined by the PDIP DPP.

“We’ll see later. That’s a matter for a meeting at the central leadership council,” he said.

According to Chicoo, PDIP has been relaxed in responding to the cawapres declaration involving Gibran’s name. Because, this does not cause unrest within the party with the bull’s head logo.

On the other hand, he also denied that PDIP was hesitant in determining Gibran’s status. According to him, PDIP is just waiting for Gibran’s decision.

“I was calm when I said earlier that there was no excessive turmoil within the party. Second, I don’t agree with the word doubt, it’s just a matter of time, right,” he said.

“It’s time for us to see that there are still a day or two left, what will Mas Gibran’s attitude be, whether he will resign or something else,” he continued.
