He explained that the Covid-19 pandemic had become a global concern. He saw that this condition not only threatened human health but also had an impact on the social, economic and financial sectors. Thus, he felt that there was a need for a response to overcome this.

“The transition from a pandemic to endemic does not mean the problem is over. Even though it has now become endemic, what must be seen is what will happen in the future and have an impact on public health,” said Sri Mulyani in a written statement, Saturday (21/10/2023).


He explained that the health sector in Indonesia must be the main issue. Efforts to transform the national health system initiated by the Indonesian Ministry of Health must be implemented well. Apart from that, to carry out national health transformation efforts, Indonesia must also be able to learn from other countries.

“We must not close ourselves off and need to learn by comparing with other countries regarding the health system in Indonesia. In this way, later these efforts can strengthen the service system at community health centers, regional and central hospitals,” he added.

For this reason, Sri said that in 2024, the health sector will remain a priority. Not to forget, he also thanked all associations working in the health sector who have worked hard to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic situation and are focused on improving the health system in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Main Director of BPJS Health, Ghufron Mukti, said that the healthy condition of the Social Security Fund (DJS) is a strong reason for BPJS Health to make efforts to transform service quality. According to him, currently the management of DJS Health has reached an optimal point.

One clear proof is the extraordinary growth of DJS Health’s investment results. In 2022, investment returns will reach IDR 2.89 trillion, more than double from the previous year which amounted to IDR 1.42 trillion in 2021. This is a strong indicator that the DJS Health placement strategy in a safe investment instrument has produced results. significant results.

DJS’s surplus assets are also used to improve access and quality of health services. These efforts include expanding disease screening, increasing promotive and preventive efforts, as well as improving health facilities through cooperation and increasing the capacity of health facilities.

“Currently, BPJS Health is promoting the transformation of service quality. We are doing this so that services in health facilities can be easy, fast and equal. We hope that this effort will also be supported by all health facilities, including hospitals,” said Ghufron.

He said that the cooperation between BPJS Health and hospitals is currently very good. According to him, the points of cooperation contained in the cooperation agreement prioritize ease of access for participants.

Apart from that, various service innovations are also presented that participants can use to access health services. Now, participants can access health services just by showing their Population Identification Number (NIK). Most recently, BPJS Health presented a digital-based innovation through i-Care JKN.

This system allows medical officers to easily track participants’ health service history in the past year. This innovation not only facilitates communication between physicians, but also allows healthcare providers to provide more comprehensive care to participants.

“With this strategy, BPJS Health continues to be committed to providing quality and affordable health services to all Indonesian people. Transforming service quality and using technology is a progressive step in advancing the national health system,” said Ghufron.
