Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – If you often use Microsoft Word, you will often see the red line at the bottom of the text. For users who are bothered by its presence, they can remove the red line in an easy way.
The red line is a feature called Proofread. This will correct the text in Word.
When the user types something, Word will label with a red line the words that need to be changed or corrected. However, this line will only recognize words in English, not Indonesian.
For those of you who want to remove the red line, here’s how:
Microsoft Word 2016
1. Open Microsoft Word, either a saved one or a new page. The next step is to click the File menu at the top left.
2. Select the Options menu
3. Click the Proofing menu
4. Delete the check mark in the “check spelling as you type” and “mark grammar errors as you type” columns. Click the Ok button to remove the red line in Word.
Microsoft Word 2010
Word 2010 users can remove the red line using several different steps. Check out the following steps:
- Click the “Office Button” on the left
- Select “word options” at the very bottom after “Exit Word”
- The “Proofing” menu appears, then click
- Remove the check mark from the sentences “check spelling as you type” and “grammar errors as you type”
- Done, the red line in Word is gone
Microsoft Word on HP
- Open the Word file on your cellphone
- Select editing mode by selecting the pencil icon at the top right
- Then, tap the triangle icon in the bottom right corner
- After that, move to the “Review” menu section
- Select the “Proofing and Language” menu
- Then select the language you want to use in writing
- Put a tick in the “Hide All Proofing Marks” column
Changing the Inspection Language
You also change the examination language, from English to Indonesian. However, to do this, make sure the device is connected to the internet. Here are the steps:
1. Open Microsoft Word
2. Click File
3. Press Options and continue by clicking Language
4. On the Office Display Language menu, click “Add a Language”. Later language options will appear and press the “Indonesian” section, then click “Install”.
5. Confirm the request to be directed to the Microsoft site to download the requested language.
6. Click Download
7. Open the download result and follow the steps requested
8. Restart or close all Office applications to be able to use the new settings
