International Israel Continues to Attack Gaza, Japan “Goes Down the Mountain” News – 46 minutes ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Israel continues to intensify its attacks on the Gaza region, Palestine. This follows an attack by the region’s rulers, Hamas, on the southern Israeli area on October 7.

Israel’s attacks were carried out indiscriminately. Many locations were targeted by Tel Aviv, triggering thousands of civilian deaths.

Israel also blocked utility and logistics access to the region. This has triggered shortages of basic commodities and a weakening of the health sector due to shortages of medicines and electricity.

For this reason, Japan decided to participate in helping the people of Gaza. Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa announced that Tokyo would provide up to US$ 10 million (Rp. 157 billion) to Gaza.

“Japan hopes that the situation in Israel and the Palestinian territories will calm down as soon as possible,” he said in a press conference, Tuesday (17/10/2023).

Previously, Israel declared war on Hamas the day after a wave of fighters broke through the border on October 7. In that action, Hamas killed 1,400 Israeli citizens.

Israel then launched a relentless bombing campaign in Gaza that has flattened neighborhoods and left at least 2,670 people dead in the territory, most of them civilians.

To reduce the number of civilians killed in Gaza, the Israeli government has ordered them to flee to the southern region of the country. Palestinians can be seen carrying whatever belongings they can, either in bags and suitcases, or packed into three-wheeled motorbikes, cars and even donkey carts.

A resident revealed that currently Gaza has collapsed due to Israeli attacks. The scale of the damage and attacks have collapsed the health system, which is also increasingly squeezed by a lack of water and electricity supplies due to the blockade by Tel Aviv.

“There is no electricity, no water, no internet. I feel like I have lost my sense of humanity,” resident Mona Abdel Hamid, who left Gaza City for Rafah in the south, told AFP.

Several doctors in Gaza also admitted that the health system in the region had been hit hard. In fact, they are no longer able to contain the bodies of those killed by the attack, triggering health risks due to bacteria emerging from the bodies.

Apart from that, many pharmacies were closed due to destruction by Israel. This condition puts pressure on drug stocks in the Palestinian enclave.

“Israel has committed war crimes violations. They also targeted ambulances carrying patients,” said Mahmoud Shalabi, manager of the Medical Assistance for Palestine program in Gaza.
