‘Parasite’ Actor Quits Drama Impacted by Drug Scandal Lifestyle – 5 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – South Korean actor Lee Sun Kyun is reportedly leaving the drama which he will star in ‘No Way Out’. He did this voluntarily as a result of the drug abuse case that caught him.

Lee Sun-kyun himself is famous for his role in the film “Parasite” which won an Oscar award.

The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency has opened an investigation into eight people, including the actor and a scion of a chaebol (a term for Korean conglomerate families), on allegations that they used illegal drugs several times this year, Yonhap News Agency reported.

“It is expected that it will take a long time for Lee to clear up the situation after the unpleasant incident since last week, so the production company accepted the actor’s request (to step down) after discussing with the management company,” said an exclusive media statement in Korea, as quoted by AllkpopMonday (23/10).

Currently, the drama is in the early stages of production and the shooting schedule has not been postponed. Thus, it is likely that the lineup will be changed due to the illegal drug charges that Lee Sun Gyun is currently facing.

Lee Sun Gyun is also known for his roles in a number of famous dramas and films such as ‘Parasite’, ‘A Hard Day’, ‘All About My Wife’, and ‘Helpless’. He debuted as an actor in 2001 and became increasingly known through the drama ‘Coffee Prince.’

Not only is he good at acting, Lee Sun Kyun also has a melodious voice which was later featured in several Korean drama OSTs. Having excellent acting qualities, Sun Kyun has brought home many nominations and awards thanks to all his hard work.

Lee Sun Gyun married actress Jeon Hye Jin in 2009. Now they have two children.
