Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government through the Ministry of Finance has allocated funds for special autonomous regions (autonomy) in 2024. This follows the agreement on several new regions by the government of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the People’s Representative Council (DPR).
“We have prepared special autonomy funds for 2024,” said Director General of Financial Balance at the Ministry of Finance Luky Alfirman, quoted on Tuesday (17/10/2023)
Both the Special Autonomy Fund and Additional Infrastructure Fund (DTI) increased along with the increase in the national General Allocation Fund (DAU). In 2024, special autonomy funds will reach IDR 13.9 trillion and DTI IDR 4.3 trillion.
Recipients of special autonomy funds are different in each province. Aceh distributed IDR 3.3 trillion. Papua amounting to IDR 480 billion, West Papua amounting to IDR 334.6 billion, South Papua IDR 375.6 billion, Central Papua IDR 578.3 billion and Mountain Papua IDR 740.8 billion.
The government directs special autonomy funds to support accelerated development in accordance with the master plan, including reducing poverty, increasing investment and strategic activities such as scholarships, health insurance, as well as direct assistance to increase community productivity/OAP.
