This TikToker Becomes a Suspect in Alleged Blasphemy of Christianity Lifestyle – 10 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A TikTok user was arrested by police after being named a suspect in blasphemy against Christians. This case started with a video of the perpetrator, Fikri Murtadha (28), from Deli Serdang, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), who talked about Christianity which went viral on social media.

Temporary Officer (PS) Head of the Medan Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Police Commissioner Teuku Fathir Mustafa, said that Fikri had been arrested since Saturday (21/10/2023). The perpetrator was arrested on Jalan Pengabdian, Bandar Klippa Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang at around 10.00 WIB and immediately questioned.

“He was arrested on Saturday 21 October 2023 at around 10.00 WIB. He is suspected of insulting certain religions,” said Fathir, as reported by detik.comSunday (22/10/2023).


The former Medan Baru Police Chief explained that the perpetrator was charged under Article 45 A (2) in conjunction with 28 (2) of the ITE Law and Article 156 A of the Criminal Code with the threat of 6 years in prison.

Fikri is known to be the owner of the TikTok account @bangmorteza. The video that went viral on social media contains him talking about the cross and Christian teachings.

“Because the God you worship is the one who was hanged, for Catholics he was hanged, for Protestants he was not hanged. For those of you who still worship him, please go home later after you repent,” he said.

“Please return the pole to PLN later. Let us have a place to hang the transformer and cable. Turn your church into a mosque,” said Fikri in a video using a mustache filter.
