Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) plans to continue providing food assistance from the government’s rice reserves until 2024. Currently the assistance scheme is being designed by the government.

Jokowi expressed this when providing food assistance to Beneficiary Families (KPM) at the Sukamaju Bulog Warehouse, Palembang City, South Sumatra, Thursday (26/10/1023).

On that occasion, Jokowi was also accompanied by Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo Adi, Main Director of Perum Bulog Budi Waseso, Acting. Governor of South Sumatra Agus Fatoni, and Acting. Mayor of Palembang, Ratu Dewa.


“Later in January, February, March, 10 kg, 10 kg, 10 kg, do you agree or not? Provided that the APBN will be sufficient, so we pray together if the APBN is sufficient, then January, January, February, March,” said Jokowi in an official statement, Thursday (26/10/2023).

Meanwhile, at the end of 2023, the Head of State said that the government was preparing additional social assistance amounting to IDR 400 thousand for recipients. This is related to the impact of the El Nino weather phenomenon.

“So later in November, in December, please see if there are any additions to your accounts, because we will transfer, God willing, IDR 200 (thousand), IDR 200 (thousand), meaning IDR 400 thousand,” said Jokowi.
