Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Firli Bahuri, will be questioned by a joint investigation by Polda Metro Jaya and Bareskrim Polri today. This is the aftermath of an alleged extortion case against former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo. Firli will be questioned at 10.00 WIB by the Dirreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya.
In a statement from the Dirreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya, on Monday 23 October 2023 at 21.40 WIB, investigators from the Corruption Corruption Sub-Directorate, Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya, received a letter from the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission of the Republic of Indonesia dated 23 October 2023, which was addressed to the Dirtipidkor Bareskrim Polri and the Dirreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya as investigators. . The main point of the letter is a request to allow the examination or request for information from the Chairman of the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) – Mr FB as a witness (referring to the previous investigator’s summons) to be carried out on Tuesday 24 October 2023 at 10.00 WIB at the Police Criminal Investigation Office.
“Following up on the request, the Dirreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya has coordinated with the Dirtipidkor Bareskrim Polri to carry out an examination/request for information as a witness against Mr. FB-Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission of the Republic of Indonesia in the examination room of the Dittipidkor Bareskrim Polri on Tuesday, October 24 2023 at 10.00 WIB,” said Dirreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya in his statement, Tuesday (24/10/2023).

Firli will be examined as a witness in a case of alleged extortion related to the handling of alleged corruption cases at the Ministry of Agriculture. The alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture has been investigated by the KPK since January 2023. Currently, the KPK has officially detained SYL as a suspect in the case.
Firli was reported to Polda Metro Jaya on charges of receiving money to stop the case involving SYL. On a number of occasions, Firli denied receiving money related to handling the case. Other KPK leaders also denied there was any intervention in handling the SYL case.
