Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to disrupt the 2024 election. This technology could create its own conflicts during the democratic party.
“Especially in the upcoming election. People can fight because of AI. I gave an example earlier. Try it [kalau] voice, your face is slandered. Fighting or not? even though the results are AI,” said Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi, in Jakarta, Thursday (19/10/2023).
He explained that there are many potential advances and benefits for technology. However, on the other hand, the potential for damage is also very large.
Currently, the Ministry of Communication and Information is conducting an in-depth study of AI. Namely regarding maintaining the ethical use of this technology.
“We’re still reviewing it, we don’t know. Don’t make changing regulations,” explained Budi.
“We have to look at this. We are really studying it in depth, what is the impact of this AI. But what is certain is that I said about ethics earlier,” added Budi.
Previously, Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Nezar Patria said the importance of individual fundamental rights in AI. So this technology will be very useful for society.
Nezar also touched on AI ethics studies. He said that his party would prepare a Circular on Artificial Intelligence Ethics Guidelines.
The circular letter aims to provide a more ethical use of technology and respect existing regulations.
“We ask for support from all industry players, academics and related stakeholders to work together to make this policy preparation agenda a success,” said Nezar, quoted from the official Kominfo website.
