Chronology of BIGBANG’s G-Dragon Involved in a Lifestyle Drug Case – 6 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Rapper G-Dragon from the K-pop group BIGBANG was reportedly arrested by police in a suspected drug abuse case, Wednesday (25/10).

According to South Korean media report News 1, the man whose real name is Kwon Ji-yon has been arrested Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act, but he was not arrested

Launch CNA Lifestyle, in a statement to the media, authorities said that the investigation was still ongoing. For this reason, they cannot provide specific information.

“Because this is an ongoing investigation, we cannot reveal specific details,” police said.

News of G-Dragon’s arrest comes days after ‘Parasite’ actor Lee Sun-kyun was charged for allegedly using marijuana and psychoactive drugs at a nightclub in Gangnam, South Korea.

Responding to this case, BIGBANG’s label, YG Entertainment, said that G-Dragon is currently no longer under its control.

“It is difficult for us to respond officially because he (G-Dragon) is not an artist currently affiliated with our company. The rapper’s exclusive contract with the label ends in June this year,” he explained.

This is not the first time G-Dragon has broken the law. In 2011, he was charged after he was caught smoking marijuana outside a club in Japan.

G-Dragon later claimed that he accidentally smoked marijuana because he initially thought it was a regular cigarette offered by a Japanese fan. After that, the charges were later dropped.
