Gerindra National Meeting Discusses Prabowo-Gibran Duet, Is Gibran Coming? News – 59 minutes ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Prabowo Subianto’s running mate vice presidential candidate, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, may not attend the Gerindra Party National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) which will be held today. Gerindra Party Secretary General Ahmad Muzani said that President Joko Widodo’s eldest son was not in Jakarta.

“The vice presidential candidate, Mas Gibran, is currently still in Surakarta,” said Muzani at the Gerindra National Rapimnas location at The Darmawangsa Jakarta, Monday (23/10/2023).

Muzani said that the National Rapimnas agenda led by Prabowo was an internal meeting that invited all party administrators. Gerindra, he said, invited all members of the advisory board, advisory board of expert councils, central leadership council and DPD administrators of the Gerindra Party provinces throughout Indonesia as well as the Gerindra faction in the DPR.

“Rapimnas is the highest forum under Congress to make important decisions,” he said.

The Daily Chair of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco, admitted that he did not know whether Gibran would attend or not.

“Yes, because this is an internal event, I don’t know yet. The committee will see whether there will be a vice presidential candidate present or not,” said Dasco.

The Gerindra national meeting was held one day after Prabowo announced that he was nominating Gibran as his vice presidential candidate. Gibran is the mayor of Surakarta and the eldest son of President Jokowi.

Gibran’s name was announced after a meeting of the general chairmen of Prabowo’s Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) party in Kartanegera, Sunday (22/10/2023) evening.

Muzani said today’s national meeting agenda was still related to the announcement made by Prabowo last night. The agenda for the meeting, he said, was to make the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs that had been determined by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition a success.

Muzani said Prabowo-Gibran was scheduled to register with the KPU next Wednesday. Both will be delivered by the leaders of the coalition parties.

“The documents from the presidential and vice presidential candidates, God willing, are ready,” he said.
