Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) responded to DPR Speaker Puan Maharani’s question regarding his support for Ganjar Pranowo as the presidential candidate (capres) supported by PDIP in the 2024 presidential election.
Present at the 2023 Santri Day rally in Surabaya, Sunday (22/10/2023), Jokowi answered journalists who asked for a response to Puan’s question some time ago.
Asked whether he still supported Ganjar in the 2024 presidential election, Jokowi only answered briefly.
“Support everything for the good of this country,” he said.
Jokowi was also reluctant to reveal whether he was leaning towards one of the presidential candidates in the upcoming election.
Previously, Puan asked journalists to ask directly whether Jokowi still supported Ganjar in the 2024 presidential election or not.
“The question must be asked to Pak Jokowi, not to me. So, let’s ask if the president has gone home, still supports Pak Ganjar Pranowo or has other options. Please ask. I also want to know the answer,” said Puan at the PDIP DPP Office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (18/10/2023), as quoted from CNN.
This question was raised shortly after the Constitutional Court granted one of the lawsuits that gave Jokowi’s eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the opportunity to be registered as vice presidential candidate.
